The 2017 Asia Pacific Conference on Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing (APCCSID) was the maiden conference of the Asia Pacific Research Association on Curriculum Studies Inc. (APRACSI). Held at Crowne Plaza Hotel Manila Galleria, Quezon City, Philippines on September 22-24, 2017, it focused on the theme, “Shaping the Future of Curriculum Studies: Policies, Perspectives, and Challenges.” Dr. Murray Print, a distinguished curriculum expert and Chair of Education at the University of Sydney, Australia, served as the keynote speaker. In addition to enlightening plenary sessions by experts, the conference featured panel discussions and 35 parallel paper presentations, delving into specific strands of curriculum history, curriculum planning, curriculum implementation, curriculum evaluation, and curriculum innovation. The event also included concurrent interest activities such as a workshop on building curriculum for democracy and a roundtable discussion on security studies. The success of the first-ever APCCSID was evident in the participation of over 300 scholars, researchers, and educators from the Asia Pacific region, underscoring its significance as a pioneering and impactful academic gathering.
